1. Who We Are

Pocketlens is a Chrome browser extension built and operated by Pocketlens LLC, a limited liability company based in Minnesota, United States. Our product helps users track online purchases and enforce monthly spending limits.

2. What Data We Collect

Pocketlens collects and stores the following information — entirely on your local device using Chrome's built-in local storage:

• Your monthly spending limit (a number you set yourself)
• Your running monthly spending total
• A list of purchases detected on retailer order confirmation pages (merchant name and order amount)
• Mood tags you assign to purchases (Good, Necessary, or Regret)
• Your spending streak count
• Your payday date preference
• Websites you have added to your merchant blacklist
• Your blocking mode preference (soft reminder or hard block)
• Cart totals detected on shopping cart pages

3. What Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any personally identifying information
• Your browsing history outside of retailer order confirmation pages
• Credit card or payment information of any kind
• Your location
• Device identifiers
• Cookies
• Analytics or usage data

We have no servers that receive data from the extension in Phase 1. There is no account creation. There is no login.

4. How We Use Your Data

All data stored by Pocketlens is used exclusively to provide the features of the extension to you on your own device:

• Displaying your spending progress against your monthly limit
• Sending Chrome notifications when you approach or exceed your limit
• Showing your purchase history and mood tags in the popup
• Displaying your spending streak
• Blocking or reminding you about websites on your blacklist
• Showing cart totals across open shopping tabs

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, marketing, or any purpose other than operating the extension for your benefit.

5. How We Share Your Data

We do not share your data with anyone. There is no data to share — it never leaves your device.

6. Permissions We Request

Pocketlens requests the following Chrome permissions and uses them only as described:

• storage — To save your spending limit, purchase history, and preferences locally on your device.
• notifications — To send Chrome system notifications when you approach or exceed your spending limit.
• tabs — To detect which retailer website you are currently visiting and to aggregate cart totals across open tabs.
• scripting / activeTab — To inject content scripts into retailer pages that detect order confirmation details and display spending reminders.
• host permissions (<all_urls>) — Required to run content scripts on retailer order confirmation and cart pages across all supported retailers.

We do not use any of these permissions to collect, transmit, or store your data on external servers.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data is stored in Chrome's local storage on your device. It persists until you take one of the following actions:

• Uninstall the Pocketlens extension (removes all stored data)
• Clear your Chrome browser data
• Use the data deletion option within the extension settings

Because we do not store your data on any server, we have no data to delete on our end. Your data exists only on your device and is entirely under your control.

8. Children's Privacy

Pocketlens is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our extension, please contact us at hello@pocketlens.app.

9. Changes To This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as Pocketlens adds new features. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Significant changes — particularly those involving new data collection practices — will be communicated through the Chrome Web Store listing update notes.

The most current version of this policy is always available at pocketlens.app/privacy.

10. Your Rights

Because all data is stored locally on your device and we have no access to it, your rights are exercised directly through Chrome:

• Right to access — Open the Pocketlens popup to view all data stored by the extension at any time.
• Right to deletion — Uninstall the extension or clear Chrome storage to permanently delete all data.
• Right to portability — Future versions of Pocketlens will include a CSV export feature for your purchase history.
